Open Letter to Sekhar Kammula

Hey there Amigo,

Hearty Congratulations on the success of your latest blockbuster Happy Days and thank you very much for making such a wonderful movie.

I have never before expressed my views publicly but with the introduction of the popular and easily accessible Idlebrain's open-letter feature I started feeling like expressing. Of late I felt the enthusiasm to write immediately after I watched or read about either it be cricket, movies or some other thing but it used to go away after a little while. It has been more than a month since I watched Happy Days and I still felt like writing. Happy Days got me started writing. :)

The movie was nostalgic and brought back memories of my college days just like it did to lots of others who have been through college life. When the movie was over I wanted even more of it and didn't feel like leaving the theatre like a child refusing to leave the play ground after a full day's play. I have watched different kinds of movies directed by some of the legendary directors like Satyajit Ray, Akira Kurosawa and Ingmar Bergman but I neither try nor know how to analyze a movie. Happy Days is mellifluous and I just loved it. I would like to rate Happy Days on par with some of the world's best movies like "Life is Beautiful" and "Singing in the Rain". Happy Days can be watched any number of times with out getting bored. I'm a fan of one of the biggest Tollywood stars but these days even he couldn't pull me to the theatre but you did with Happy Days.

The last movie I liked as much as Happy Days was Toliprema. I don't know if I'm greedy by Tollywood standards if I expect another good movie like Happy Days in the next three years. Frankly speaking, I do not expect you (nor any body else except God) to succeed all the time but I would like to ask you to try and make movies that make sense like you usually do. Please make many more movies like Happy Days and re-affirm the statement "Director can be the Hero of the movie". I wish you all the best with your next movie.
