Actor Suriya turned emotional at a press meet of Kanguva in Hyderabad on Thursday. “It’s been more than two years since I had a theatrical release but still when Surya Son of Krishnan came, you all were in the theatres. I literally cried watching your love. Thank you so much. It really means a lot. I see this as some blood connection; we are all really connected and this bond is very special for me,” the actor said addressing his fans at AMB Cinemas.
Continuing, he added, “So it is my responsibility to give you a wonderful theatrical experience and that’s why Kanguva. We have taken two-and-a-half-years to give you a film which you have never seen before. I humbly say you will have a never seen before experience with the film. It was all possible because of my dear brother Siva (the film’s director). I have a lot of respect for his vision. He is a one-man army and he has taken us forward with his positivity. I enjoyed each and every day working with him. We have a fantastic cast.”
Thanking his cameraman Vetri, composer Devi Sri Prasad and the entire CG team for putting together the film, he stated, “It’s not easy to do a film like this. Lots of respect for Rajamouli garu for showing us the way. Any regional film can become a global film; he showed us the way. So thanks to him. Kanguva is an Indian film. It will be a very special experience this November 14. Please come.”
Further, Suriya pointed out that Kanguva is not about a fighter but a warrior. “A warrior will stand for his people, family, friends and faith. And you (addressing fans again) are my warriors. It will only make me happy if you chase your dreams like warriors. I want you to wig big in life. I want you to grow the same way you want me to grow. I want you to achieve big things in life. Make yourself proud first and I will be more than happy,” the actor concluded.
Billed as a mighty valiant saga which spans generations, Kanguva also stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani. Mounted on an estimated budget of over ₹350 crore, it is produced by K E Gnanavel Raja, V Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati.
