In development for over a year, superstar Mahesh Babu’s next with hit machine SS Rajamouli is just a few months away from hitting the ground running. With the film set to have a jungle backdrop, Rajamouli is exploring places across Africa and as part of it; he landed in Amboseli National Park, Kenya to identify the perfect locales.
“Trotting to discover,” he posted on Instagram on Tuesday as a flood of comments from Mahesh fans bombarded his page. He is seen walking on an empty stretch of land, while a herd of zebras can be seen in the background. His son SS Karthikeya too is accompanying him on the trip.
The untitled film, as Rajamouli said in the West nearly two years ago, is a globe-trotting action adventure. “Indiana Jones is one of my all-time favourite movies. And I want to do something like Indiana Jones and Dan Brown’s kind of novels. I love them (the latter). (We) are thinking of figuring out something in that space. A globetrotting adventure is what we are planning next. It’s too early in the writing stages,” said the filmmaker in the US in late 2022 about the film.
The project, which will be Mahesh’s 29th, will mark Durga Arts chief KL Narayana’s return to the production fold after 2006 release Rakhi. Known to be extremely choosy with his work, his credits include Kshana Kshanam, Santosham and Hello Brother among other films.
Mahesh-Rajamouli film is envisioned as a franchise, with MM Keeravani serving as the music composer and PS Vinod as the cinematographer.
