Actor Srikanth Iyengar has landed in a soup on Saturday over his unpleasant comments against review writers. The actor, who played a supporting role in Friday release Pottel, came down harshly on reviewers, stating that they taste fecal matter. “Review writers take birth when misery gets diarrhea; they taste fecal matter. We should stop these bloody parasites (addressing reviewers). (They made) comments like it’s dragged on (regarding the film) etc… they haven’t made a short film in their life and they write reviews. They don’t even have a rough idea of making a film. People are there. They will take the film forward. Your reviews are non-sense,” the actor declared at an event of Pottel in Hyderabad on Saturday. His comments come in the wake of Pottel receiving mixed reports.
He added that “we will toil hard, put our lives on the line to make films continuously and people will like them.” “Reviewers will come and go,” he noted.
His comments certainly didn’t go down well with the media fraternity. Telugu Film Critics Association formally lodged a protest against the actor in MAA; they shot off a letter to MAA president Manchu Vishnu in this regard, requesting him to take action against Srikanth. Other journalist associations are also contemplating to take the matter further.
