Two years after his maiden directorial Swathi Muthyam, a delectable family drama, which developed a sizable following after its debut on an OTT platform, writer-director Lakshman K Krishna is set for his second venture and is hopping genres. According to sources, he has got the nod of Sree Vishnu, who was recently seen in Swag, and the untitled film will be going to floors next year. S Naga Vamsi will be shepherding it under his Sithara Entertainments, with company from Fortune Four Cinemas and Srikara Studios.
A source close to the development exclusively confirms to us, “Lakshman K Krishna has been working on the script of his second directorial for nearly one-and-a-half years. He wanted the content to be in contrast to what he had done earlier and it is the reason why he took time. It’s an action-comedy thriller, a genre which has been rarely explored in Telugu cinema, with the makers confident that the content they are treading has never been explored in Telugu cinema.”
The source adds, “Vishnu has been given a narration recently and he got pretty excited about it. The story aligned with his thought-process of attempting something different every time. Also, the character he is set to play is tailor-made. The story is set in the backdrop of Hyderabad and the principal photography will kick off early next year. The makers have initiated the casting process.”
Right now, Vishnu is in the midst of completing writer-director Hussain Sha Kiran’s investigative thriller, which is being produced by Sandeep Gunnam under his Light Box Media. He also has Geetha Arts and Kalya Films venture with Ninu Veedani Needanu Nene helmer Caarthick Raju.
