Sandeep Reddy Vanga has a great taste for music and it’s evident in his films released so far. Soundtrack aside, the director is also known to extract scintillating background score from his composers and some scenes in Arjun Reddy and Animal are a pointer to it.
Sandeep has worked with Harshavardhan Rameshwar for the re-recording of Arjun Reddy and Animal and taking his association forward, he is repeating the composer again for his next, Spirit, with rebel star Prabhas.
While the film, which will be a joint production venture between T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, will go to floors sometime next year, Sandeep has begun jamming sessions with his composer. “Music work just began,” Rameshwar posted on X on Diwali along with a short clip of Sandeep enjoying what seems to be his latest composition.
In Spirit, which will mark Sandeep’s return to Telugu film space after Arjun Reddy, Prabhas will be seen as a cop. Talking about the project earlier this April, Sandeep said it will be mounted on a budget of Rs 300 crore. “For Prabhas garu, it’s a valid budget. I feel the producer is safe. Our combination, satellite, digital rights and everything… We are going to recover our budgets there itself. If everything goes well with the teaser, trailer and songs in the run up to the release, the opening day would be Rs 150 crore,” he had said in an interview.
