After announcing the setting up of her production venture Tralala Moving Pictures, in collaboration with Hyderabad-based entertainment company Mandoa Media Works, last December, Samantha followed it up with the announcement of her maiden production venture, Maa Inti Bangaram (MIB), earlier this summer.

The first look of MIB saw the actress brandishing a gun while donning the look of a traditional Indian married woman. Her arms were splashed with blood while we see a teddy bear and a pressure cooker on the brink of explosion in the background painted in colours of red, hinting at an earthy and intense crime thriller. While we don’t know about the status of this project, our sources exclusively confirm to us that Sam has green-lit another project and this will not see her in the lead.

A source close to the development tells us, “Sam’s second production venture is a full-length fun-filled entertainer. Praveen Kandregula, who impressed one and all with his maiden film Cinema Bandi (2021), is directing it from his own script. Harshit Reddy (Mail and Kalki 2898AD fame), Charan Peri (Mad and Bench Life fame) and director-turned-actor Srinivas Gavireddy are playing the protagonists in the film, which has been shot for over a couple of weeks so far. The next schedule will be held in Vizag next month.”

The source adds that Sam is extremely excited about the script of this untitled venture, which aligns with Tralala’s motto of associating with meaningful, authentic, and universal stories, and with an able and sensitive filmmaker like Praveen at the helm; she believes she has a winner in hand. Interestingly, Praveen has wrapped up his second film, Paradha, a realistic rural drama featuring Anupama Parameswaran, Darshana Rajendran and Sangeetha in the lead roles, but there’s no release date attached to it yet.
