On Rebel star Prabhas’ birthday on Wednesday, production house Hombale Films sprung a surprise by announcing that much-awaited Salaar 2 has begun.
It appears that a 20-day schedule has commenced with Prabhas too joining the sets.
With part 1 ending on a cliffhanger, Salaar 2 has been teased about multiple times in the past. In fact Hombale Films had devised plans to start Salaar Part 2: Shouryanga Parvam from August 10 in Ramoji Film City with a 15-day schedule earlier this year but it couldn’t come to fruition. Reports added that there’s a standing set at RFC where the second part was to resume but it wasn’t meant to be.
However, things seemed to have changed and part 2 is very much on track.
Interestingly, writer-director Prashanth Neel is committed to start his next with Jr NTR later this year and it remains to be seen what the status of this project is. Is it postponed or will the director juggle between two films at a time?
Set in the fictional dystopian city-state of Khansaar, where monarchy still exists, Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire followed the friendship between Deva (Prabhas), the exiled prince of Khansaar, and Varadha (Prithviraj), the current prince of Khansaar. When a coup d'état is planned by his father's (Jagapathi Babu) ministers and his relatives, Varadha enlists Deva's help to become Khansaar's undisputed ruler.
It is assumed that Salaar 2 will explore the conflict and tension between Prabhas and Prithviraj’s characters, culminating in a finale that will be high on drama and action.
