In his career spanning more than three decades, Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja has essayed a wide variety of characters but if there is one character that is synonymous with him – then it should undoubtedly be that of a cop. From Vikramarkudu to the recent Waltair Veerayya, Ravi Teja has shined as a cop and how. No wonder, the debutant director of his upcoming landmark 75th film has visualized the actor in a cop role. But there’s a twist to it. Having played the traditional state cop so far, the actor will be playing a Railway Protection Force (RPF) officer in #RT75. RPF is an armed force of the Union under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. The force works for the better protection and security of railway property and passenger areas.
A source close to the film’s unit tells us, “Writer-turned- director Bhanu Bogavarapu has designed Ravi's character in a powerful way, yet with a streak of humour. As a part of research, the director met cops from South Central Railway and The East Coast Railway to pick their brains and penned a character Lakshman Bheri that will be both authentic and dynamic akin to that of Karthi in Khakee. Ravi has always been fond of cop characters and he has taken to this role like a duck to water.”
Produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, #RT75 is a proper popcorn entertainer set in the backdrop of Araku. It has been shot for a month so far, witnessing close to 40 percent of the shoot being wrapped up. “The next schedule will begin in October first week in Hyderabad and will go on for more than three weeks. The unit will go outdoors for a 20-day schedule in December. It’s likely to be held in Kerala or Araku. With Sankranti release ruled out, the makers are looking to wrap up the entire shoot by February end and slot it for a summer release,” the source adds.
Sree Leela is cast opposite Ravi Teja in the film, a Bheems Ceciroleo musical.
