Rajinikanth stable; will be home in 2 days: Apollo Hospitals

Superstar Rajinikanth, who was admitted in Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, on Monday evening following digestive discomfort, has undergone an elective procedure in the cath lab on Tuesday. According to the health bulletin issued by the hospital on Tuesday, the actor had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (Aorta). It was treated by a non surgical, transcatheter method.

“Senior interventional cardiologist Dr Sai Satish placed a stent in the aorta completely sealing off the swelling (Endovascular Repair). We would like to let his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went, as planned. Mr. Rajinikanth is stable and is doing well. He should be home in two days,” the statement read further from the Greams Road unit of Apollo Hospitals.

Rajinikanth returned to Chennai very recently after completing a schedule of his on-sets movie, Coolie, with Lokesh Kanagaraj. He is presently awaiting the release of Vettaiyan, which opens in cinemas on October 10th. He plays an encounter specialist in the film directed by Jai Bhim fameTJ Gnanavel.
