The much-anticipated Peddi first shot was dropped on account of Sri Rama Navami on Sunday and we say it’s a sixer.
A little over a minute, the first shot opens with Ram Charan as Peddi entering a cricket field with a bat around his arms. The bat handle has a bracelet hanging around it--must be a souvenir of someone close to him. Speaking Uttarandhra dialect, which adds a layer of freshness to the glimpse, the cigarette-smoking Peddi has his own philosophy about life. He believes in accomplishing things while still alive on planet Earth. It concludes with Peddi coming down the track, passing for a bit while thudding the handle on to the pitch, before smashing the ball for a six.
Summing up, the first shot, without disclosing anything of the plot, introduces us into the world of Peddi, where cricket is an integral element. From the very first frame, Ram Charan grabs your attention with his physical transformation and diction and refuses to let go. The electrifying energy he brings, coupled with Rahman’s pulsating background score, sets the tone for a film that promises to stay with audiences long after the credits roll. Visually as well the glimpse is a treat, with Rathnavelu’s cinematography giving it a rooted look and Buchi Babu Sana’s direction bringing a cultured and dynamic aesthetic to the project. The cricket episodes seem to be adrenaline-pumping and for a country that is mad about the game, Peddi for IPL time next year (March 27 release) promises to be a watch that will be both thrilling and emotionally satisfying.
Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas and presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, Peddi also features Jahnvi Kapoor, Shivraj Kumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyenndu Sharma in supporting roles.
What a stunner of a first shot! 🔥
The glimpse of #Peddi kicks off with a bang - those opening dialogues perfectly capture the essence of Peddi’s philosophy. Global Star Ram Charan’s look and transformation are phenomenal. The raw, rustic vibe throws us straight into the 90s… pic.twitter.com/3TnajvT80I
