The trailer of Tamannaah Bhatia-fronted Odela 2 is out and it delivers scares and chills in spades, promising an intense supernatural experience.
Spanning close to three minutes in length, the trailer begins with a voiceover which predicts that a deadly spirit (Vasishta Simha) is about to take birth in Odela and is waiting for an opportune moment to strike the place. A Muslim man (played by Murali Sharma) later states that Bhupati might have died but his spirit is still alive. The local SI (Sharatchandra Lohithaswa) takes offence to this statement of Murali Sharma and warns him not to spread panic. However, Odela village continues to witness eerie incidents and soon darkness engulfs the place. Into this scenario enters Tamannaah who plays Shiva Shakthi and she takes on Vasishta who is up for the battle. The trailer is also dotted with glimpses of Hebah Patel, Shafi and a cycle which rides without a rider. It concludes with a money shot of Vasishta in a meditating pose literally in the air, sending chills down the spine of viewers.
Summing up, the structure of the trailer mainly attempts to generate an atmosphere of fear, terror and dread. Fast cuts, blurry and darkened frames, uneven lighting and a shrill and often jarring soundscape add a layer of mystery to the experience. Headless bodies and ghastly spirit flourish in the trailer, along with scenes of ghastly nature. These are sprinkled with tense moments and scenes full of suspense and intrigue. The cinematography embraces darkness, using it to elevate the horror level to the hilt, while the score manages to generate an atmosphere full of chills and thrills. Tamannaah and Vasishta bring their ‘A’ game, while Murali Sharma and the likes offer ample support. The only grouse with the trailer is that it has shades of Anushka-starrer Arundhati.
Jointly produced by Madhu Creations and Sampath Nandi Teamworks, Odela 2 will release in theatres on April 17. Ashok Teja has directed it, while Sampath wrote the screenplay and did direction supervision as well.
The trailer of #Odela2 is spine-chilling, evoking the eerie vibe of Arundhati. It follows a gripping tale where a man returns from the dead to seek revenge.
