As Akhil Akkineni turned a year older on Tuesday, the glimpse of his next with Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha fame director Murali Kishor Abburu was dropped and oh boy, it was worth the wait. Akhil, in a rugged avatar for the first time, made our hearts skip a beat.
A minute in length, the glimpse opens with the visual of a deity before we get to see a silhouette image of Akhil who is seen carrying an axe, battle-ready. While heading to erase history, he tells that his father had a word with him. “We won’t have a name while taking birth; we only breathe. While passing away, we don’t breathe, while we have a name. And that name should transcend generations.” The director finally cuts to an image of Akhil and Sree Leela, with the latter secured and safe in the shoulders of Akhil, hinting at a raw love story. The title is later revealed to be Lenin.
Overall, the glimpse is one minute of pure jaw-drop, showcasing a never before seen Akhil who is bulked up. As Lenin, he exudes a fearless and daunting aura, with the Chittoor accent giving it a layer of freshness. As the glimpse unfolds, it’s obvious that Akhil plays a character that goes to any length to protect his love, while in the process etching his name in the history. Thaman conjures up magic again with his background score which is electric and enhances the glimpse overall effect significantly. If this short clip is any indicator, then Lenin promises a generous dose of action, romance and drama, making the film a complete entertainment package.
Produced by Nagarjuna Akkineni and S Naga Vamsi under Manam Enterprises and Sithara Entertainments, Lenin has no release date attached to it.
Akhil Akkineni has all the qualities of a star, but the right film to make a big impact at the box office has eluded him so far.
His upcoming film #Lenin, set against backdrop of Rayalaseema, seems to have strong potential. He looks absolutely terrific!
