Top-lined by Dhanush, Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna, there has been no noise about Sekhar Kammula’s Kubera, which is one of the anticipated releases, for quite some time. When we reached out to one of the producers of the film, Puskur Ram Mohan Rao, he confirmed that the film’s talkie part has been wrapped up.
“Two and-a-half songs are pending and they will be filmed in December. One song will be shot in Mumbai and the other one-and-a-half song in Hyderabad. We are looking to release the film in the third week of February or in March,” he stated.
When asked why they are keeping the film low profile despite boasting of some heavy hitters from Tamil and Telugu industries, Ram Mohan added, “We are waiting to wrap up the film first. The promotions will kick off mid November and we will speed up the campaign from December.”
Set in the backdrop of Mumbai, Kubera is an action-thriller. While the producer is cagey to reveal anything about the story, he revealed that Kammula had done a ton of research for the project. “It will be a simple affair but it will penetrate deeply into the viewer’s mind,” he pointed out.
Produced by Suniel Narang and Ram Mohan Rao under Sri Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Kammula’s Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd, Kubera, with Devi Sri Prasad’s music, is being made as a multilingual project in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
