Tamil-Telugu actress Kasthuri Shankar of Bharateeyudu and Don Sreenu fame on Monday said that DMK party was trying to bully her through a smear campaign. “Yesterday I exposed the double standards of fraud dravidia migrant imposters who play divisive hate politics among tamils. Today DMK ecosystem trying to bully me by running a smear campaign about my telugu loyalty. They are trending FAKE NEWS that i spoke against telugus,” she wrote on her X page.
She added, “Naa mettilu telugu, naa family teluguvaalu ani teliyaka these idiots are trying this comedy. Bigger comedy is how these antiHindu liars have suddenly become so fond of sanatani telugu leaders of Andhra Telangana, and are tagging @ncbn @PawanKalyan, @revanth_anumula etc.”
Her explanation comes in the wake of her comment stating that Telugu-speaking people in Tamil Nadu are descendants of courtesans who came to serve the kings 300 years ago. “Now these Telugu people are saying they belong to the Tamil land, so why are you dismissing Brahmins as non-Tamils when they’ve come here many centuries ago?” Kasthuri said in a fiery speech during a protest, which triggered a massive backlash.
The actress came down harshly on the belief that Brahmins are not Tamils, referring to the contributions of the Andhan community during the independence struggle.
