Actor-writer Siddu Jonnalagadda believes that “characterizations are very important moving forward in my career”. “Audience will remember great characterizations more than great stories. If you balance both, nothing like it,” he said in an exclusive interview with us.

The actor, who is now a hot property in T-town courtesy his DJ Tillu franchise, is cautious about labeling any of his films henceforth as a super hit before it sails into cinemas. “If you ask me ‘Is Jack a good film? I’ll definitely say yes’. If you ask me if it’s a hit film, I say I don’t know because nobody can tell. Don’t think anyone can say it 100 %. I don’t think anyone should say it as well. In fact during DJ Tillu part 1 press meet, I said we are hitting the bulls-eye 100 %. I think it was very foolish of me to have said that. Even though I’m extremely confident about my film Jack, now I wouldn’t say it will be a hit 100 %. Right from the biggest stars to newcomers, nobody can predict the outcome. I feel if we predict that, then we will stop making films. But I believe if you make a good film, the result will be good. In Jack, we have played with the characterization along with the story, which Bhaskar sir imagined on a huge scale. I hope we achieved that balance,” he stated.

Jack trailer has very little of leading lady Vaishnavi Chaitanya and Siddu says there’s a reason for it. “It is a part of the story we are not ready to reveal yet. Her character is intertwined with the story. At the same time, the trailer of Jack was cut in a way that Jack the character penetrates into the market. If you watch the film, you’ll understand it better. Vaishnavi has got one of the best roles of her career and she’s also done a fantastic job. Mine is a one-dimensional character whereas hers is multi-dimensional. Her character has a lot of emotional growth,” Siddu revealed.

Written and directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar, Jack blazes into cinemas on April 10th. BVSN Prasad has produced it under his SVCC.
