After making a splash with Ghazi (2017) which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu, writer-director Sankalp Reddy followed it up with Antariksham 9000 KMPH, which unfortunately failed to light up the box office. The director later went on to make IB71 (2023) with Vidyut Jammwal in Hindi.
And now we hear that he is coming back to Telugu cinema. According to sources, he has got the nod of Gopichand for his next. While details of the genre of this untitled venture are in short supply at this juncture, sources add that it will be rooted in reality– a far cry from the stories that Gopi has done of late. “The scripting is in progress. With his recent films biting the dust, Gopi is not in a hurry. He wants to come with a content that will resonate with everyone. The film will be something different for him, yet the audience expects such films from him– after all his filmography boasts of films like Okkadunnadu and Sahasam,” a source close to the development confirmed.
Srinivasaa Chitturi of Srinivasaa Silver Screen is attached to produce the project, which is likely to go on floors shortly. This will be the producer’s second project with Gopi after the decent grosser Seetimaarr.
