The filming of Anushka Shetty-starrer Ghaati, directed by Krish, is in the final leg. According to a source close to the unit, the makers have wrapped up 85- 90 percent of the shooting so far and if it wasn’t for the incessant rains in Odisha this month, the makers were on target to wrap up the entire filming by September itself.
“Around 15 days of shooting is still left. A schedule was planned this month in Odisha but it had to be deferred due to rains. The entire climax part will be shot in Odisha. It’s a big episode and after Krish completes it, he will sit down with other producers Vamsi, Pramod of UV Creations and Rajeev Reddy to decide on the release date,” pointed out the source.
Ghaati, a full-on action drama, is a gripping tale of revenge, redemption and retribution where a victim turned criminal rises to a status of legend. Anushka plays an authoritative character in this female-centric movie, while Tamil actor Vikram Prabhu is paired opposite her.
It is written by Chintakindi Srinivas Rao, Krish and Burra Sai Madhav, while the likes of Ramya Krishna, John Vijay, Chaitanya Rao and Ravindra Vijay are playing supporting roles. “The music is being composed by a first-time tunesmith called Vidya Sagar. Krish and his team are super happy with what the debutant brought to the table as a composer,” added the source.
Ghaati marks the second collaboration between Anushka and Krish, following Vedam more than 14 years ago. Anushka played a sex worker Saroja in the hyperlink film, receiving widespread acclaim for her turn.
