The latest schedule of global star Ram Charan-spearheaded Game Changer began in Vijayawada on Sunday, with director Shankar and cameraman Thiru taking some shots of the city. Our sources tell us that makers are keen to call it an end to the shoot with this leg. And to achieve this, they have employed multiple units.
Previously, Sailesh Kolanu was tasked with directing the second unit portions of Game Changer and as he dived into the filming of HIT 3 with Nani, the makers have now hired the services of Swamy Ra Ra fame Sudheer Varma, who, we hear, has started calling it ‘action’ as well. “Sudheer’s work began on Monday in Saradhi Studios, Hyderabad as he directed some shots involving not-so familiar faces. He will be in command of the second unit while Shankar will be incharge of the main one. The filming shifts to other parts of Hyderabad on Tuesday with some noted faces like SJ Suryah, Subhalekha Sudhakar likely to join the shoot. The team is also in plans to shoot for a day in Tirupati and it remains to be seen if they can achieve this,” a source close to the development tells us.
The source adds that Shankar will be present for another three-four days before he flies off to Chennai to work on the post-production, while Sudheer will continue to head the second unit until he gets the shots that Shankar needs.
Meanwhile, the film’s active promotions kicked off with the unveiling of the teaser in Lucknow recently and the team is looking to maintain the momentum with the launch of the third song on Wednesday. It is a duet which has been shot in the picturesque locations of New Zealand.
Game Changer is produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations, and is based on a storyline by Jigarthanda helmer Karthik Subbaraj, while Su Venkatesan and Vivek worked on the screenplay. A political drama with a social message, the film sees Charan in dual roles– of father and a son, with Srikanth playing the role of a chief minister. Apart from Telugu and Tamil, it will also be released in Hindi. A Thaman musical, it is slotted for a release on January 10, 2025. The expectations on the film are sky-high as it marks the first time teaming up of Shankar and Charan.
