In an exclusive conversation with idlebrain ahead of Devara release, writer-director Koratala Siva said that Vara character will send the audience on a high. Jr NTR is playing dual roles– Devara and Vara– in the actioner. “The story has a ten-year time lapse. First half will be dominated by one character, while the second half will be dominated by the other. Both will share equal screen space until the end. Devara is a mass character who is driven by ideology; you’ll enjoy him. He is intense. Vara has more variations and you’ll enjoy him more. He has his low moments followed by high moments. It’s an unpredictable character. He will find a place in your heart by the time the film comes to an end. I love Vara the most and he will send you on a high,” Siva said.
He added that he completed Devara in one year given its scale, the VFX shots and number of actors it involved. “With the experience I gained, I can finish part 2 in six-eight months,” he pointed out.
Speaking about part 2, the venerable director added that they don’t want to take a large gap to make it and they will sit down and discuss it after Devara opens. “Two episodes of part 2, including one on a sea, are already shot. We have 20-25 footage of part 2 with us,” he disclosed.
