Megastar Chiranjeevi on Saturday termed Thaman’s speech at the success meet of Daaku Maharaaj, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, as thoughtful, saying that his words touched his heart. “To see a happy soul like you carrying this anguish surprised me. But I understood that your words were a reflection of what you were going through,” Chiru wrote on X.

He added, “Whether it's cinema, cricket or any other social issue, people who use social media should understand how their statements will affect the concerned person. As someone said, Words can inspire. And Words can destroy. Choose what you wish to do. If we remain positive, that energy will drive our life in a positive direction.”

Addressing Thaman, he concluded, "Thoughtful words my dear! God Bless!”

On Friday in Hyderabad, Thaman expressed his unhappiness over how fan wars are killing cinema. “I don’t understand the kind of life we are living, as we are killing our cinema. I’m pained. We are not able to openly discuss our success. It’s the worst thing. We should be proud of celebrating our Telugu cinema. Cinema in general is great. Individually you can fight but don’t kill a film; it’s not correct. No film should go through it. I pray it doesn’t happen. If I did something wrong to someone, I would seek his forgiveness the same day itself. Next day when I get up, I don’t want any enemies in my life. The thing is you don’t know whether you will wake up in the morning or not. So why this amount of negativity? During COVID-19, we’ve literally died; haven’t we? Industry too died. We somehow got up and our big directors are taking Telugu cinema world-wide. Our films are releasing in Japan, Australia, Norway, Africa and we will go to South America next. In the US, our films are collecting $10 million and $15 million. Telugu people are great; they are spread everywhere and with them are taking Telugu cinema. So it is our collective responsibility to save a film. If a film is not good, we will take it, fine. We’ll learn how to make a better film next time; we are open to it.”

Reacting to the megastar’s post on Saturday, Thaman wrote, “Dear Annayya, your words reminded me of Gita’s sloka: కర్మణ్యేవాధికారస్తే మా ఫలేషు కదాచన.... (You have the right to work only but never to its fruits). We are human beings at the end of the day; sometimes the emotion will pour out. It was akin to killing a newborn even before he/she opened their eyes. I will remember your words for the rest of my life. Long live cinema.”
