Meena is acting in the title role of ‘Vengamamba’ film which is based on the story of first Telugu poetess Tarigonda Vengamamba. Doraswami Raju who produced the memorable Annamayya with Nagarjuna is producing this film on VMC banner.

Muhurat of this film was held at Prasad labs on the morning of 21 March. Ramesh Prasad switched on the camera and DVS Raju sounded the clapboard.

Meena said, “It was VMC banner that introduced me as a heroine in Telugu with Seeta Ramayya Gari Manavaralu. Vengamamba is based on a real story and I feel glad and elated to play such a nice role of a Telugu poetess.”

Sai Kiran is doing the role of Lord Venkateswara.

This film will be shot in Hyderabad and Tirupathi. Shooting of Vengamamba will be wrapped up by June. Udaya Bhaskar directs this film. MM Keeravani composes music.
