Debutant Majji Krishna Prasad chose a campus love story for
his first directional venture, Sri Vijaya Sambhavi Films,
June-July starring Akash and new comer Sadaf in the lead.
Produced by M.K. Mavullaiah, the film has completed its talkie
part and a couple of songs in a record 23 days.
"The story is in tune with the present trend," says
the director who had a stint as an assistant and associate
with Kodi Ramakrishna, A.M. Rathnam and Krishnavamsy. It is
the story of a mischievous college student (played by Akash)
and his pranks. How one of his victims brings a change in
him is the story.
"Though set in a campus backdrop it has a novel approach.
Since colleges are normally reopened in June-July, we opted
for this title," says the director.
Akash says his role is a mixture of 'action and sentiment'.
Sadaf, the new girl to enter Telugu film industry from Mumbai
is happy to play the daughter of a rich man, a role, which
has all the shades of emotions.
"It is not just a love story, it is a story of youth
with a mass appeal. A major asset for the movie is its music
by Koti," says the producer who has made a comeback to
the tinsel world after a hiatus of two years.
Murali Mohan plays the doting father of the heroine while
Kota Srinivasa Rao is cast as the hero's father, who behaves
like a friend with his son and the scenes between them provide
rib-tickling laughter. The film is slated for release in June.
